It's almost August! Time to RIDE!
Trek Portsmouth is starting a beginner group ride!
Saturday mornings at 9am leaving from Trek Ports. lead by Olivia. First ride Sat August 7th!
Learn the basics of riding with a group, enjoy the camaraderie and make new cycling buddies! We'll ride for fun and culminate this session with Trek's Ride for Breast Cancer on October 9th, a 10 or 25 mile ride with fun, food and prizes at Trek after the ride!
What's the beginner road group ride all about?
This ride is intended to give new and slower riders the chance to practice their road bike handling skills and get used to riding in groups. The total mileage will be 15 miles or less, with breaks during the ride to re-group, rest, and discuss techniques.
This is a very friendly, slow-paced ride where the primary goal is to have fun while improving the rider's cycling technique and fitness.
We'll also ensure that each rider understands road cycling etiquette and how to ride in traffic, with special care taken at intersections and in car-crowded areas like parking lots.
